Sleep in the City: London Edition

Discover how to stay in London without breaking the bank! We share our experience at the stylish Moxy London Stratford, tips for affordable Zone 2 stays, and why Stratford is…

Stylish and comfortable hotel room at Moxy London Stratford with modern decor and cozy bedding

London is a vibrant, bustling city with so much to offer. From iconic landmarks like the Tower of London and Buckingham Palace to the lively cultural scenes of Soho and Shoreditch, there’s always something happening. Whether it’s exploring diverse food markets, catching a world-class theatre show in the West End, or enjoying the energy of Hyde Park and the South Bank, London truly is full of life.

Accommodation in central London can be pricey, especially in popular areas like Westminster, Covent Garden, and Chelsea. Prices vary depending on location, type of accommodation, and time of year. If you’re looking to save, staying slightly outside central London—around Zone 2—can make a big difference.

That’s exactly what we did last December and we saved hundreds of pounds! We stayed in Stratford, a lively area home to Westfield Shopping Centre and the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Westfield was just a five-minute walk from our hotel, and Stratford station was even closer, making travel within Zones 1 and 2 easy and affordable—the underground fare is the same, a total win-win!

We stayed at the Moxy London Stratford, a stylish 3-star hotel perfect for travellers looking for a comfortable yet trendy stay. We loved the vibrant lobby and the lively atmosphere; it always felt like something was happening. Location-wise, it’s just a 15–25 minute metro ride to most central London spots (Zone 1), about 40 minutes by train from Heathrow airport, and roughly an hour from Gatwick airport. A great option to consider if you’re planning a trip to London!
