From Malta to the World: How My Travel Story Began
Hi, I’m Kim — welcome! Born and raised on the sunny (and tiny) island of Malta — a speck on the map that sparked my curiosity for the world — I’ve always felt connected to something much bigger. I didn’t travel much growing up, but I was that kid who loved geography, stared at maps, and daydreamed about oceans, mountains, and cultures I’d never seen.
After graduating with a degree in Banking and Finance and getting my first full-time job, I started booking cheap flights to random cities — just for the thrill of exploring somewhere new, trying unfamiliar foods, and seeing how other people lived. I’ve always loved immersing myself in different cultures and throwing myself into new experiences.
A Love for Active and Adventure Travel
At home, I lived a minimalist lifestyle — I didn’t spend money on material things, I spent it on experiences. I explored every corner of my island, hiking, kayaking, and running my way through hidden gems along Malta’s coastline. Having a sit-down office job made me crave movement, and I fell in love with being active — running, hiking, anything that got me outdoors and moving.
Naturally, my travels started to reflect that side of me too. I began planning more active adventures, like multi-day hikes such as the Alta Via 1 in the Dolomites and the Tour du Mont Blanc, where we hiked and camped under the stars for a week. I climbed Mount Toubkal in Morocco, ran the Seville Half Marathon (because I adore Andalusia), and later completed the Athens Authentic Marathon — and yes, my first one was right here in Malta!
Why I Started Sharing My Travels
So, why am I sharing all this? Because I want my page to inspire you to do more. For the record, I’m not a naturally gifted runner, and I’m actually scared of ledges (and a few other things!). But I’m a doer. I don’t have to be the fastest or the bravest — if I set my mind to something, I’ll find a way to make it happen. And if I can do it, so can you. There’s a huge world out there, waiting to be lived — away from screens and comfort zones.
I also want to encourage younger travellers to break the myth that travel has to be expensive. All you need is curiosity and the willingness to work with the budget you have. When I started, I didn’t earn much, but my desire to see the world was bigger than my bank account — and that made all the difference.
So far, I’ve visited 25 countries, travelling extensively through Italy and Spain. My bucket list is still long, but I’m in no rush. I want to slow travel — to actually experience places rather than just tick them off a list.

Helping You Plan Your Next Adventure
In 2022, while stuck in Rome after testing positive for COVID, I started my travel pages on Instagram and Facebook. I was still working full-time and couldn’t post consistently, but this year I’ve leaned into long-form writing — diving into details and helping others plan their own unforgettable adventures.
I know trip planning can be time-consuming and overwhelming. That’s why I created this blog — to make it easier for you. Here, you’ll find my personal travel advice, destination guides, and sample itineraries designed to inspire you to travel more, be more active, and step outside your comfort zone.
I only share what I truly love and what I’ve experienced firsthand. No generic lists or copied content — just honest recommendations I’d give to my closest friends and family. I plan and pay for all my own travels, so every opinion here is genuinely my own.
My goal is simple: to help you plan your next adventure with confidence and excitement. I write the kind of guides I wish I had when I was planning the same trips.
