While Malta is full of dining options, this guide highlights only the ones I’d return to. Whether you’re after traditional Maltese cuisine, Mediterranean classics, or international flavours, there’s something here for every mood.
And whatever you do, don’t leave without trying a pastizz—a golden, flaky Maltese pastry filled with ricotta or mushy peas. You’ll find them in pastizzerias and cafés across the island, enjoyed by locals for breakfast, as a snack, or whenever hunger strikes. Best of all? They usually cost less than €1!
