Rainy days in Malta might seem like a bummer at first but once you know where to go and what to do, you’ll realise there’s plenty of fun indoors! Whether you’re with family, friends, or solo, here’s your go-to guide to stay entertained even when the weather doesn’t cooperate.

Valletta
- St. John’s Co-Cathedral – Step into one of Malta’s most beautiful Baroque churches with stunning art and architecture. Tickets are €15 adults, €12 students & seniors, free for children under €12.
- The Malta Experience – Sit back and watch a multimedia show that brings Maltese history to life. Tickets are €14 adults, €7 children (5-11), free under the age of 5.
- The Grandmaster’s Palace – Explore the halls, armoury and heritage rooms of this historic seat of power. Tickets are €15 adults, €13 students & seniors, €11 children (6-11) and free for 5 and under.
- Lascaris War Rooms – Delve into WWII history with fascinating underground exhibits (great for older kids and history buffs). Tickets are €20 adults, €19 seniors , and €7 children under 16.
- A Maltese Tile Painting Workshop (near Valletta, in Marsa) – Get creative indoors and make your own traditional (coaster size) Maltese tile to take home as a souvenir. €34.50 per person.
St. Julians
- Odyssey – An immersive 35-minute multi-sensory show that takes you through Malta’s fascinating history on the island’s first Flying Theatre; perfect for history lovers looking for a unique indoor experience. Tickets are €25 adults, €19 students & seniors, and €12 for kids above 100 cm, with a 15% online booking discount available.
- Museum of Illusions – Wander through optical illusions, interactive installations and cool photo ops. Tickets are €16 adults, €14 students & seniors, and €12 for kids, with a 15% online booking discount available.
- Planet Play – Indoor Karting – Malta’s first indoor karting track combines high-tech racing with VR experiences. A standard kart session costs €19 (with a two-seater option at €28).
- Dee Spas at Mercury – Spa facilities and spa services.
- The Eden – A massive and modern entertainment hub with something for everyone: cinemas, bowling, over 100 arcade games, karaoke rooms, laser tag, virtual escape rooms, and darts.
Sliema
- The Point Shopping Mall – A classic rainy-day choice — shop, dine and explore under one roof.
- A Pastizzi Experience – Make one of Malta’s beloved traditional snacks; perfect for foodies and culture lovers. Wednesdays and Saturdays only at €42 per person.
St. Paul’s Bay
- National Aquarium – Meet sea creatures from around the world — an always-fun rainy day activity for families. Tickets are €16.90 adults, €12.90 seniors, €10.90 for children 12 and under.
- Malta Classic Car Collection Museum – Vintage cars and automotive history under one roof. Tickets cost €10 for adults, and €5 for children (2-12).
- Malta Chocolate Factory – Book a hands-on workshop and learn how chocolate is made and taste your creations (ideal for kids and adults alike). €25 per person.
Kalkara
- Esplora Interactive Science Centre – A fantastic science discovery centre with hands-on exhibits and a planetarium. It’s both fun and educational. Tickets are €12 for adults and €10 for teens/children (planetarium included).
Birkirkara
- The Farsons Brewery Experience – Step inside Malta’s historic Farsons brewery and discover the story behind Cisk, Malta’s most popular beer and a local icon that’s also exported to other countries. This interactive indoor experience walks you through the brewing process, the brand’s history, and Maltese beer culture, finishing with a sampling of 5 beers.
Ta’ Qali
- Can You Escape? – Malta’s best escape rooms. These indoor puzzle adventures are brilliant for groups and rainy afternoons!
